Hi, I'm Marilia!

I am Victoria's assistant. I have been working with her since October, and I am loving every second of it. I was born in the Azores (Portugal), and I moved to Canada when I was about 2 years old. I love all animals, especially cats (of course, hence why Vic and I are a perfect match). I love art, music (musicals), and spending time with my family, as well as some other things which we can chat more about in person.

Growing up, I had no idea what I wanted to do. It was either becoming a fashion designer or being an artist, but I always found myself paying close attention to my hair. I would wake up early and style my hair differently every day. As I transitioned to high school, I took a cosmetology class and loved it, but I wasn't entirely sure that it was exactly what I wanted to pursue. After high school, I attended Mohawk for radio broadcasting. When I was well into my second year of college, I knew that wasn't the job for me.
 
I still graduated and moved on to pet grooming, which wasn't the career for me, lol. As time went on, I thought to myself, 'Hey, I loved working on hair in high school; maybe I should give it a try.' I went on to take a cutting course to ensure I still had a passion for hair, which I soon discovered I did. I then applied to classes, fell in love with them, and graduated. Now I'm here, completing my apprenticeship and working with a fantastic team.

As I continue on my journey, I am excited to see what the future holds and to continue evolving not only as a hairstylist but also as a person. I'm looking forward to seeing you in person and getting to know you.
