Hi, I'm Marilia!

I spent 2025 working alongside Victoria, and I loved every second of it. Now, it's 2026, and I'm on the floor building my own clientele and stepping into the next chapter of my career with confidence thanks to Vic. I was born in the Azores (Portugal), and I moved to Canada when I was about 2 years old. I love all animals, especially cats (of course, hence why Vic and I were the perfect match). I love art, music (musicals), and spending time with my family, as well as some other things which we can chat more about in person.

Growing up, I had no idea what I wanted to do. It was either becoming a fashion designer or being an artist, but I always found myself paying close attention to my hair. I would wake up early and style my hair differently every day. As I transitioned to high school, I took a cosmetology class and loved it, but I wasn't entirely sure that it was exactly what I wanted to pursue. After high school, I attended Mohawk for radio broadcasting. When I was well into my second year of college, I knew that wasn't the job for me.
 
I still graduated and moved on to pet grooming, which wasn't the career for me, lol. As time went on, I thought to myself, 'Hey, I loved working on hair in high school; maybe I should give it a try.' I went on to take a cutting course to ensure I still had a passion for hair, which I soon discovered I did. I then applied to classes, fell in love with them, and graduated. Now I'm here, completing my apprenticeship and working with a fantastic team.

As I continue on my journey, I am excited to see what the future holds and to continue evolving not only as a hairstylist but also as a person. I'm looking forward to seeing you in person and getting to know you.
