My Story
Growing up, I dreamed of becoming a singer or actress on Broadway. I guess that could be expected when I grew up watching an excessive amount of Glee. Every day after school, I would rush home just to have some free time to sing along to some karaoke videos. By the time I got to high school, I was waking up ridiculously early to try out new ideas for my hair and makeup. I wasn’t looking to impress anyone at school, but simply found it therapeutic and enjoyed creating my own techniques. That’s when it started to click that I wanted to pursue a career in the beauty industry. I started a co-op placement at a salon & spa when I was 16, thinking I would get a head start in becoming a make-up artist. After seeing the beautiful work the hairstylists were accomplishing and the positive experience they created for their clients, my goals slowly shifted from makeup to hair.
Since starting my journey as a hairstylist, my friends and family have told me countless times their previous ‘bad hair horror stories’ and other salon experiences, resulting in a profound drive in me to make as many people's salon experiences as positive as possible. I always strive to give you the hair you desire and create a safe place that you feel heard and are excited to come to.
Through the last year at IHC, I’ve dedicated lots of my time to practicing new techniques as well as setting aside some of my days off to attend different cutting & colouring classes. I strive to constantly learn and grow my skills as this industry is forever changing. I’ve dedicated many hours to my newest endeavour, hair extensions, which I’m thrilled to be offering in the salon! I’m super excited to be offering this service as it truly fills my cup with joy & I have a whole new world of options to provide people with a newfound confidence.
I don’t approach cutting or colouring as a one-size-fits-all-all. I create personalized looks that work with your lifestyle while keeping your hair goals in mind. I understand the importance of listening and getting to know you as an individual to help build trust and accurately arm you with the knowledge you need to get your hair where you want it to be.
I’m incredibly grateful to have had many opportunities to bond with so many of you, and if I haven’t yet, I hope to see you in my chair soon.
